Ann Reese Bedgood, of Roanoke Rapids, peacefully departed this life on Friday, July 9, 2010, to join her Lord and Savior. She spent her final days at her home with her friends and family.

She was a life long member of Quankie Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Many will remember her for her loving care of their infants in the nursery at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Born April 29, 1931 to the late J.C. and Maggie Reese, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Norman Bedgood, her brother, Owen Reese and her brothers-in-law William Harlow and Frank Tripp.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Paula Bedgood Cahoon of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren, Lee W. Cahoon, Jr, Michelle Annette Cahoon Rochelle and her husband, Jason, of Rocky Mount, and Maggie Allyson Barner and her husband, Marvin, of Land O’Lake Florida; five very special great-grandchildren, Wil Delenn, Eli, Willow and Lily; her sisters, Mae Reese Tripp, Rachel Reese Harlow and Jeanette Reese Clary and her husband, Henry; and her brothers, J.W. Reese and his wife, Margie, and Herbert Reese and his wife, Mollie, all of Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Quankie Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Boyd and Rev. Henry Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
